Last weekend I went to see the Hannah Höch exhibition at the wonderful Whitechapel Gallery. It was an amazing exhibition, with some really intimate works and clever organisation. I was particularly impressed by the abstract works, where printed textile references really came in. They were completely beyond their time; glitch art and feminist principles felt strong throughout this series. For 1969, I'm definitely into that.
Her research books and words were really powerful too - despite circumstance, she truly stood up for what she believed in. That is what art should be about.
